LONDON — Volvo Cars in the U.K. is now offering a sporty R-Design option package on the V70 wagon, with prices ranging from $49,000 for the basic 2.0 version up to $75,000 for the T6 AWD Geartronic.

In Europe, Volvo has gradually been rolling out the R-Design package across its entire vehicle range. The bundle currently is available on the C30, S40 and V50 and XC90.

On the V70, the R-Design pack includes 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, silk-metal-finish grille and mirror housings, black anodized window moldings, a chrome tailpipe, leather sport seats, perforated-leather sport steering wheel, aluminum pedals, aluminum interior trim and revised instrumentation with blue dial faces. Volvo also has tweaked the chassis with stiffer stabilizer bars and bushings and lower ground clearance.

A version of the V70 R-Design is expected to come out in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2009.
