- Volvo is recalling its S80 sedan for a tire pressure monitor problem.
- More than 3,500 S80s from 2007-'10 are included in the recall.
- Volvo has not yet provided NHTSA with a recall schedule.
WASHINGTON — Volvo is recalling 3,635 2007-'10 S80 sedans because of a problem with the tire pressure monitoring and regulating system, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"The tire and loading information label and a page in the owner's manual contain incorrect maximum permissible inflation pressure, and the tire pressure monitoring system software has an incorrect trigger level," said the NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "These vehicles do not meet the required safety standards."
In other documentation filed with the federal government, Volvo said "no technical reports have been received by Volvo for this condition." It added: "The incorrect tire pressures listed do not represent a risk to motor vehicle safety."
Volvo dealers will update the vehicles with a new tire and loading information label, owner's manual label and tire pressure monitoring system software. Volvo has not yet provided NHTSA with a recall schedule. Owners can contact Volvo at (800) 458-1552.
