WASHINGTON — The 2012 Volvo S60 is being recalled for the second time within a seven-day period — this time for a fuel leak that could result in a fire, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"The fuel-line quick connector may detach and the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash," said NHTSA in its recalls summary of the problem. "The customer may also notice a fuel smell and leakage. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire."

Volvo said 478 2012 Volvo S60s are involved in the recall worldwide; 448 of them are in the U.S. NHTSA was notified of the second recall on June 3. On May 26, NHTSA was notified of a recall of 7,558 2012 Volvo S60s because under certain driving conditions, there may be engine hesitation and possible engine stall.

In the latest recall, Volvo dealers will replace the fuel lines on the 2012 S60. The recall is expected to begin in June. Owners can contact Volvo at 1-201-768-7300.

Only 448 cars in the U.S. are being recalled and Bullitt saw 2 torched S60s.   Sounds totally realistic.
