ROCKLEIGH, New Jersey — The 2012 Volvo C70 Inscription will be available in limited numbers, starting in the spring, priced from $45,650. The sticker includes the price of a 2012 C70 T5 plus shipping and a $3,900 charge for the Inscription package.
Included in the price is an engine tweak provided by Polestar, which boosts the turbocharged 2.5-liter five-cylinder to 250 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to a five-speed automatic.
The C70 Inscription package bundles 18-inch black Midir wheels with polished rims and spokes, chrome-trimmed black grille, rear spoiler, leather upholstery, leather-covered dashboard, aluminum pedals and Inscription floor mats, handbrake lever and front headrests.
Only two colors are available: Ice White and Black Sapphire Metallic.
Volvo said it will build only 2,000 Inscription models in total, with 500 earmarked for the U.S. market.
Inside Line says: The C70's swan song is at hand.

I would buy this if it was offered with a manual. I would love it with a manual and the T6 engine.

I would spend the extra money on this car quite frankly. Volvo's are such beautiful vehicles that are always so unappreciated. Better than the othe luxury cars in my opinion. Rode a 2005 XC90, and I got to say I was impressed very well engineered cars period. I mean other luxury car makers are just as impressive but I have a special place for these cars. I am also a proud owner of a Permobil C300 powerchair also Swedish but assembled in Lebanon, Tennessee and has also been a comfortable and well-made hardy chair.

They should offer a coupe only version like what they did in the previous generation C70.

The C70 is a great car but most don't consider it because it's not the blistering fast sports car everyone wants it to be. The 227hp takes it to 60 well under 8-seconds which is very good for a 2.5L 5cyl pushing around 3800lbs. But I agree they should install the UPGRADED 5cyl from the new S60 and bring down the weight a little.
And since were on the subject, bring back the 5-cyl version of the XC90 and give it the redesign it needs!!

Just install the diesel hybrid system, which has more power, torque, and 3 independent driving powers, way batter driving dynamics than all the mechanical-linked AWD, such as those of BMW and MB

Needs the T6 to be competitive even if fuel economy is lost by 1 or 2 MPG. It may compete against the lexus SC, but really nothing else.

stunning.
Isn't that the same engine in your LT S60?
