ROCKLEIGH, New Jersey — The 2011 Volvo C30 models get some tweaks and price hikes for the new model year. The 2011 Volvo C30 T5 starts at $25,450, including a $850 destination charge, reflecting a $500 increase over the outgoing model. The 2011 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design starts at $27,800, including shipping, reflecting a $650 price hike over the outgoing model.

The 2011 C30 goes on sale in mid-January.

The C30 gets a face-lift for the new model year with a redone front clip that includes the front fenders, grille, headlights and lower front spoiler. Volvo describes it as a "radical new appearance from the front, carving out a distinctive personality which clearly separates the new C30 from the Volvo S40 and V50."

The 2011 Volvo C30 T5 R-Design gets major upgrades to the chassis that include stiffer bushings, a lower steering ratio and stiffer springs. A new monochromatic body kit and 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels round out the package.

    Extras on the 2011 C30 include $550 metallic paint, a $2,000 multimedia package, a $900 climate package and a $1,250 five-speed automatic transmission.

i like the looks of the c30 and was even considering one until i compared it with the likes of golf or mazda3, then i looked at the gti, and mazdaspeed3. they out do the c30 by 50 to 100 horse power for thousands less... whats up with that volvo.

I've seen one C30 and I saw it one time and it was a strange look-at-me hue, green I think.   I don't think the ugly new front end is going to help Volvo move the iron.

On the upside, it looks like fog lights are now standard, and the $2000 multimedia package includes both navigation AND the killer 650-watt Dynaudio stereo.  I own an '08, and I've only seen a few others, but they're apparently selling decently enough to stay alive.. it is kinda cool having a rare car.

I like the idea of a sport package, but something about those new headlights seems a bit off.

I've seen them out and about up here in the Northeast, but not tons of them. Still, its a modern car i'd actually be interested in buying reguardless of the price hike

Amazing what they can do to a Mazda3.

Looks almost like a Lexus IS.

The same is true for the North West. I've only seen one of these C30s on the road so far. it's to bad i think they look good.I thought after marketing it in the Vampire movie this car would have gained popularity by now. (overt product placement) i guess the Mini will always be king.

Considering these things are non-existent on the road, at least in the Southeast; I'd say the price hikes for '10 may not break the bank, but will not bolster it's popularity either!
