WOLFSBURG, Germany — The Volkswagen Tiguan Track & Avenue, which debuted on Tuesday here, will not be coming to the United States.
"No, we'll continue to offer the current model range," said Volkswagen of America spokesman Steve Keyes in response to an e-mailed query from Inside Line asking if the Track & Avenue is bound for the U.S. market.
The high-end model starts at the equivalent of $56,218 and will be sold in Europe.
The Track & Avenue model includes 19-inch alloy wheels, front foglights, bi-xenon headlights, two special exterior colors, an off-road front end, wheel flares and a silver-colored diffuser. The cabin gets exclusive leather upholstery, sport seats, an RCD 510 radio with Dynaudio sound system, a special climate control system and a leather-trimmed multifunction steering wheel.
The special model can be ordered in four engine-transmission combinations, all linked to a six-speed transmission. Two diesel engines are among the engine offerings.
Inside Line says: You'll have to admire this ritzy off-roader from afar. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent

I wonder how much of this they could use to create a (perhaps dealer-installed) appearance package.

Too bad, but for US a $56k VW Tiguan no matter how good it looks, it still not going to be a big hit. Their are many other vehicles to choose from with that range.
