HERNDON, Virginia — Volkswagen of America said the VW Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition, first displayed as a concept at last year's 2008 SEMA Auto Show, will go on sale in January, featuring a race-inspired body kit and VW's clean diesel engine.
The Jetta TDI Cup Street Edition gets larger brakes with red calipers, stabilizer bars and the sport-tuned suspension from the Jetta GLI.
In addition, VW fits sport seats with Interlagos cloth, a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel and 18-inch Charleston wheels with performance all-season tires.
VW has not finalized pricing but said the Jetta TDI Street Cup will start at around $25,000.

And when is InsideLine going to drive this car and give us a full report?? So many of your editors rave about how great the TDI Jetta is in your long term test blog. And most of them agree that it needs a manual transmission, better brakes, and better suspension. That's exactly what the TDI Cup Edition is....so where is our review??
I've already decided I'm buying a TDI within a couple months...I just can't decide between the larger space of the SportWagon to better support my mountain biking habit, or normal Jetta TDI, or this new TDI Cup Edition which really appeals to me because I want a "fun" car.
