    Volkswagen Beetle
    • 2013 Volkswagen Beetle: The diesel version of the Bug goes on sale in summer 2012.
    • 2014 Volkswagen Beetle: Volkswagen won't wait long to roll out the convertible version of the Beetle this time around; we expect to see it in early 2013. Same goes for the higher-performance Beetle R, which VW showed in concept form at the 2011 L.A. Auto Show.
    • 2016 Volkswagen Beetle: An all-electric Beetle is possible down the road, as VW has already tested the waters with the E-Bugster concept at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show.

    Volkswagen CC
    • 2013 Volkswagen CC: The CC gets a refresh for the 2013 model year; updated styling makes it look more like the U.S.-market Passat.
    • 2015 Volkswagen CC: The CC should get its first redesign around the 2015 model year.

    Volkswagen Golf
    • 2014 Volkswagen Golf: The Golf will get significant revisions around the 2014 model year, and VW has even entertained the possibility of building the U.S. model in Tennessee. Look for the Golf Hybrid to show up then, too, using the same drivetrain parts as the Jetta Hybrid, including a turbocharged, 1.4-liter gasoline engine, a 20kW electric motor and a lithium-ion battery pack. We should also see the Golf e-motion, a full EV version of the Golf, around that time, but initial sales volumes will likely be modest.

    Volkswagen GTI
    • 2014 Volkswagen GTI: A redesign of the GTI is probable for the 2014 model year, as VW is looking to reduce the cost of building its hot hatch.

    Volkswagen Jetta
    • 2014 Volkswagen Jetta Hybrid: Volkswagen will introduce a hybrid Jetta sedan in late 2012. It will feature a 150-hp, turbocharged, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and a 20kW electric motor (powered by a Li-ion battery pack), with a seven-speed, dual-clutch automated manual transmission driving the front wheels.
    • 2012 Volkswagen Jetta Coupe: Previewed by the NCC concept at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, the production version of the Jetta Coupe will share its drivetrain components with the Jetta sedan and should be priced accordingly.

    Volkswagen Passat
    • 2015 Volkswagen Passat: A mid-cycle refresh should come for the Passat in 2015.

    Volkswagen Polo
    • 2015 Volkswagen Polo: This subcompact hatchback has been on sale for years in Europe. The latest version may finally make its way to the States as Volkswagen sees a larger potential market for cars of its size.

    Volkswagen Routan
    • 2013 Volkswagen Routan: The rebadged Chrysler minivan hasn't sold well, so don't be surprised if the nameplate dies off at the end of the model cycle.

    Volkswagen Tiguan
    • 2014 Volkswagen Tiguan: Expect a full redesign for the Tiguan by 2014 with styling elements borrowed from the Cross Coupe concept.

    Volkswagen Touareg
    • 2014 Volkswagen Touareg: The second-generation Volkswagen Touareg went on sale in the U.S. at the end of 2010. The earliest we expect a refresh to happen is around the 2014 model year.

    Volkswagen Up!
    • 2016 Volkswagen Up!: Volkswagen may eventually bring its Up! city car to the U.S.. Although the two-door version is expected to go on sale in Europe in 2011, the U.S. will probably get the larger four-door version. An all-electric version of the Up! is also under consideration for the U.S. market.

So I just stumbled upon this and wanted to make a comment about the worries of owning VW.

I swore after owning a big-3 product and making the switch to japanese that I would never put myself in the situation of owning an unreliable vehicle again. I owned japanese and never had an issue. When the time came I had to make a choice for a new SUV and started shopping around. I too heard about the electrical problems but after driving a 2010 Touareg TDI I made the choice to buy it new.

To be straight up, have I had electrical problems? The answer yes. I think the comfort I had with my choice to buy VW was that I went into the transaction knowing electrical issues could happen and was at peace with my decision to buy a VW. The drive of VW is unlike anything you will experience and its like driving in a brick is the only way I can explain it.

Basically the catch phrase that I came up with was: Another day, Another module.

I have had the windshield wiper motor replaced, the fan on the climate control replaced, the fab module replaced, an oil pressure sensor replaced.

I have had about six things go wrong but after repairing them the vehicle runs amazing.

The bottom line is, people can say a lot based on loose facts, and there is some truth to what is said about the electrical problems, but VW has come along way in reliability - in these economic times, they have too. They cannot put out an inferior product, no manufacturer can at this point. The cost of getting customers back if all the vehicles the produce are lemons, is not an option. Just my opinion, but I think there is some truth it.

My VW is the best vehicle I have ever owned, and I am definitely getting another VW when the time comes.

Buy a VW new, and buy a TDI. You won't regret your decision. May be bumpy in the beginning, but its worth it.

Enough with the electrical problem comments, I have owned 7 VW's and have had minimal problems non being electrical. Japanese cars are more reliable we all know that, but for the money nothing drives like a VW!!

The stories of electical problems is my ONE AND ONLY concern with buying a VW.  Although I had so much regret when I went for a Scion xA over the VW Rabbit.  Loved that they named it the Rabbit again and I missed owning one new:(  I think this time I might have to make sure I go to the VW dealership and be done with these regrets!

As an owner of two Passats (06 VR6 4Motion sports pak 2 & 08 2.0T Lux Wagon) we just love our two Passats.  Mrs loves her wagon more than the Audi Allroad we traded in.  Hoping VW doesn't get rid of the Passat Wagon.  Good visability, Mpg, interior size, handsome inside & out, tiptronic w/ paddles for sport feel.  The VR6 is a fast rev'ing V6.  She still puts a smile on my face when asked.  Really love both of our Passats.  Great bang for the buck.  Put them up against any entry level lux vehicle and they still come up on top!  Hope VW USA keeps the quality, features contained within trims, and competive pricing.  Looks like gas will be going back up for a while.  Keep rolling out your Passat wagons - they will do well.

We have enjoyed our VW SEL Routan. Sporty handling and great features made it easy to give up our SUV. The 4.0 v6 is quick and get good MPG. After market options are abundant and cheap because of the shared T & C platform.   It looks like the 2011 will get a new pentastar V6 dohc and replace the base v6 and maybe the 4.0 too. No problems to report and VW carefree maintenance has been great.

    To Ed Hellwig, Senior Editor:

No word on the R20 at all? Is it coming to the US or not?

What about the Blue Sport Concept? Come on man...

Only really exciting news here for me is that the Polo might finally make it to the states.

Terrible blue speedometer/tach illumination? That's your opinion but I love the blue in my '08 R32 and would not ever change it for red.

I've had my '08 R32 for 3 years now and I'm happy to say i've had NO electrical problems what so ever.
