DETROIT — The Volkswagen CC R-Line has made its debut already for European consumers, but the German automaker has yet to spell out whether the CC R-Line is coming to the U.S.

When asked about a U.S. rollout, Volkswagen of American spokesman Thomas Wegehaupt replied in an e-mailed message: "Volkswagen will make an announcement about the CC R-Line during the North American International Auto Show next month in Detroit."

The CC R-Line gets either 17-inch or 18-inch R-Line "Mallory" alloy wheels, foglights, a front spoiler and side skirts and R-Line logos. The cabin has four aluminum tread plates, a three-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel with multifunction keys and the Park Pilot system.

VW said the R-Line package adds the equivalent of $3,158 to the bottom line for the CC 2.0 TDI with a six-speed transmission.

The company has a total of eight models with R-Line equipment now on the market.

US regulations may requires VW to have a taller suspension for the R line VW Passat CC for safety reason.

Its so hard to ship in all these good looking cars to US I don't look forward to this at all.

Even though it comes in, it will not look as good as the picture.

Take this VW USA put restriction on the Headlamp switch with US spec cars(almost all),  anywhere else will have a selection on the switch.  DRL for US spec no matter what!!

I usually don't like VW cars, but the CC has got me lookin'.  It's a beautifully designed car, IMO.  And a possibility of a CC-R... oooh.
