2008 SEMA Show: VW Performance CC Concept

LAS VEGAS — Volkswagen's surprisingly modest 2008 SEMA Show display focuses much of its attention on the new VW CC quad-coupe.

The Performance CC is understated, with a gray pearl paint scheme and black chrome accents outside, plus matte-black graphics and piano-black trim inside. Black-leather Recaro seats and matching floor mats get white piping.

The performance hardware starts with VW's 2.0 TSI engine, with an APR Stage 3 turbo providing three levels of output: Eco mode, 222 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque; GT mode, 252 hp and 268 lb-ft; Full Power mode, 311 hp and 313 lb-ft.

Other features include an APR stainless-steel exhaust system, Brembo brakes, H&R coil-over suspension and 20-inch Yokohama rubber.

Inside Line says: Good looks, with extra muscle to boot. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
