What is it?
Toyota Yaris Cabrio Concept
What's special about it?
Yaris? What's that? Those living in America know it as the Toyota Echo. Same car, just a different name. The Echo debuted in 2000 as a new subcompact offering impressive interior space, good fuel economy and decent performance. At the Geneva Auto Show, Toyota showed a convertible concept of this vehicle. The Yaris Cabrio is longer and lower than its hatchback sister, but width, track and other mechanical dimensions remain unchanged. The interior is more sporting, featuring such items as a three-spoke steering wheel, two-tone trim, aluminum pedals, and an aluminum shift knob.
Why should you care?
Toyota displayed a Celica Convertible Concept vehicle at this year's L.A. Auto Show. Now there is the Yaris Cabrio Concept. It would seem Toyota is serious about offering an affordable convertible one way or the other. Celica Convertible or Echo Cabrio? Which one do you want? Toyota says public reaction to the Yaris Cabrio concept will influence the decision on whether to build it or not.
