    What is it?
    Toyota Will VC

    What's special about it?
The Will Project is a joint branding initiative among seven companies targeting the techno-savvy youth market. The Will VC is Toyota's interpretation, expanding on the theme of "mobile enjoyment," which basically states that you should be doing everything else in your car besides concentrating on driving. This five-door hatchback offers real-time traffic information, which can be useful, as well as a directory for shopping and restaurants as most navigation systems provide, but it also allows you to play video games on the 6.5-inch screen. It recognizes voice commands, which we long thought was the best way to control a navigation system. And finally, we find the on-board karaoke feature both frightening and a bit groovy.

    Why should you care?
It's always heartening to see a driver coming down a twisty mountain road with one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding a microphone, in the middle of the refrain of the Captain and Tenille's "Love Will Keep Us Together." Most of these features are just silly "look what we can do" boasts, but such innovations as a voice-commanded navigation system will hopefully find their way into production cars. — Liz Kim
