LAS VEGAS — Toyota teamed with Bass Pro Shops on the Tundra Sportsman, which the automaker describes as "a command center for extended hunting trips" and "the ultimate sportsman fantasy transport and base camp." It's on display at the 2010 SEMA Show.
Toyota started with a 2011 Tundra Double Cab 4x4, adding a 5.7-liter V8 with six-speed automatic transmission, plus a Rock Warrior package from Toyota Racing Development and massive 33-by-12.5-inch Nitto Mud Grapplers mounted on 18-inch ATX Teflon-coated wheels.
In addition to a 3-inch suspension lift, Toyota also fitted a custom air intake and snorkel, as well as a custom exhaust that exits through the center of the pickup bed and rear deck.
The big truck gets TRD Rock Warrior bucket seats upholstered in waterproof material, Rock Warrior carpeting, Browning all-weather camo floor mats and JBL all-weather speakers.
Let's talk about that pickup bed. Toyota tells us that "everything required for conventional firearm and bow hunting is included, as well as an area for meal preparation."
The driver's side of the bed, according to Toyota, "is dedicated to firearms," with a fold-down workbench, locking steel rifle cases and a pistol safe. The passenger's side "is designated for bow hunting and camping accessories" and includes a fold-down work surface, storage cabinets for hunting bows and accessories and a closet for camo and foul-weather gear.
That leaves the tailgate section, which Toyota says is the "food preparation zone," presumably for non-vegans. A "mobile kitchen" is stocked with a small stove and work surface, plus storage for cooking utensils and a built-in 7-gallon water tank.
And if you're not up to cooking, where do you transport the wild game that you've bagged on your dream hunting trip?
Naturally, on the 86-square-foot platform that sits atop the truck and can be accessed via a side-mounted ladder. The platform also doubles as a hunting blind or sleeping quarters (presumably when it's not occupied by dead animals).

WHAT THE H*LL IS THAT!!!!!!!
It looks like the highschool shop class and the girls from home eck decided to team up to freak the teacher out! This is the biggest and most embarassing joke that Toyota has ever foisted on the good, gun-loving
folks from the south! It make the Pontiac Aztec look Bauhaus by comparison!!

Wikiwiki,
That sort of comment is out of line. If you knew anything about hunting, which you obviously do not, you would know that wild game is far healthier than store-bought meat as it is lower in fat and free of hormones and antibiotics that are, unfortunately, a necessary component of commercially produced meat. Furthermore, this Sportsman edition Tundra should make it far easier for hunters to enjoy the sport with minimal effect on the great outdoors.
