NEW DELHI — Toyota Kirloskar Motor, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automaker, confirmed it will unveil a concept version of its upcoming Entry Family Car at the 2010 New Delhi Auto Show in early January.

The EFC is slated to go into production initially in India in late 2010, followed by Brazil, Russia and other emerging markets.

To be displayed in both hatchback and sedan variants at the Auto Expo show here, the EFC will be slotted below the Yaris as Toyota's entry-level model in a number of overseas markets. It is not expected to come to the U.S.

Inside Line says: The unanswered question is whether Toyota has been able to get the projected price of the EFC below its earlier sub-$7,000 target. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent
