LONDON — Toyota has released artist's sketches of its prosaically named Avensis Next Generation Touring Car, which is slated for its debut on October 9 at the final round of the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch.
The new Avensis NGTC is being designed and engineered to new BTCC regs by GPR Motorsport in Buckingham.
Toyota says it won't contest the series with a works team, but it is providing a donor car and bodyshell to GPR, which will field the Avensis NGTC at Brands with former BTCC champion James Thompson at the wheel.
Inside Line says: Don't be fooled by that Japanese-sounding name. This is a British-built and British-modified racing car that will contest a British series with a British driver. Doesn't get much more homegrown than that. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

4 your information this is a car that's already in europe. The Avensis is the equivalent to the camry in europe. It looks better than the camry we get here in the US

For Toyota's sake, I hope this is a hint on the next Camry before they go full force at becoming the most anonymous line of cars EVER

If it is a hint of the next Camry, let me be the first one to say on this blog that it is definately an improvement to the current generation Camry.
