Toyota Auris HSD: 2010 Geneva Auto Show

    3 Ratings

TOKYO — Toyota will publicly unveil the production-ready Auris HSD hybrid at the 2010 Geneva Auto Show, along with the face-lifted RAV4. The company's show stand will also feature the European premiere of the Toyota FT-86 sports car.

The Auris HSD (for Hybrid Synergy Drive) goes into production in late spring at Toyota's U.K. plant in Burnaston and will be sold across Europe.

Toyota reiterated that it plans to offer hybrid versions of its entire model range by the early 2020s.

The freshened RAV4 gets a new front-end design and an upgraded interior. Toyota said a companion model for North America, built in Canada, will arrive later this year for model year 2011.

They killed the Matrix. This would be Yaris or so, but the styling is plain and ugly though. I hope that they would have a make-over.

Will this replace the Matrix?  Looks similar.  I'd still buy a Toyota over any American car and over most imports too.

I truly think the American media and American car companies blew this out of proportion on purpose to take down the leader of the pack and give domestic companies a boost.

Just look at the recalls for GM, Ford, Chrysler and then compare them to Toyota.  Toyota is still far and above anything American companies can hope to be.

It's certainly premature to judge Toyota on a vehicle that hasn't been launched yet. It's also foolish to indicate that they have done nothing wrong, or that it's somehow American auto workers fault. I don't think anyone yet has publicly determined if this was a specification, design, manufacturing, assembly, or integration issue. We'll see. As far as products manufactured in China, some may blame the Chineese manufacturing, but I promise you if it's a U.S. company who licensed and sold the product it is that company who will be held legally responsible for the consequences.

Your America bashing is not only transparent and inaccurate, it is pathetic.

I don't think Toyota did anything wrong.  It is the US UAW making a big stink about it.  As long as I remember, Toyota is the only auto manufacturer stop all their auto production to correct this correct problem.  I don't ever recall any US or foreign auto manufacturers ever did that.  If you ever look back.  I think Toyota has less recalls or problems with their products than any other auto manufacturer in the world.  US politicans are Japan bashing because they can't compete with a better product.  If the US auto manufactures stop in love with them self, they might not have been such dire strait.

Beside, the defective gas pedal was manufactured by a US COMPANY.  Nobody seems to pay attention to it.  When the US COMPANY manufactured their products in China with defects.  The blame China.

US people loves to blame their own ills on others.  NOT MY FAULT.  Like the lady put a hot cup of MacDonald coffee between her thigh and drive.  She got burn because the HOT COFFEE spilled between her thigh was TOO HOT.  MacDonald have to pay her for her stupidity.

Toyota doesn't have to do anything extra, they just have to use their same old formula make reliable no nonsense, maintenance free cars that run more than 300000 miles until the owner gets bored and tired of driving the same car for 25 years and not willing to sell thier belowed car
and have them parked in their garage and go for another toyota that drives until they live and once the owner dies their grand and great great grand  children drives that car.
