    What Is It?
    2004 Toyota RAV4

    What's Special About It?
The RAV4 is a popular small SUV that receives a few enhancements this year. New hood lines and large bumper-mounted foglamps give the front a more aggressive SUV look, and larger side mirrors with turn signal indicators increase the driver's visibility. A redesigned spare tire cover and new 16-inch alloy wheels round out the exterior changes.

Inside, steering wheel-mounted audio controls are added to a new leather-wrapped wheel, and a full-map DVD-based navigation system brings a more upscale SUV functionality to the cabin. For added safety, both side and curtain shield airbags (designed to protect front and rear outside occupants from head injuries during side-on accidents) are now available, along with vehicle stability control, traction control and brake assist.

    Why Should You Care?
With Toyota's reputation for quality, the updated RAV4 content (it's the only little 'ute with a nav), plus increased safety attributes, is sure to make this mini SUV an even bigger seller. — Kelly Stennick
