Few details have been released about Toyota's project, which the automaker describes somewhat cryptically as a "radical new small-car concept" with a "revolutionary" design.
Separately, the company confirmed that it is working with engineers from Sony on an updated single-passenger transporter that appears to be an update of Toyota's 2005 i-swing "personal mobility" concept.
Toyota said its Frankfurt stand also will showcase the uplevel RAV4 Cross Sport, two new variants of the Yaris compact and a face-lifted Land Cruiser.
What this means to you: Toyota continues to expand the frontiers of advanced technology, especially in small cars.
