I am sure they are doing this for a reason. They should be! But I am sure the prices wont effect the buyers wants if they want this car, they will get it. But Then again corolla needs something to make others buy it and maybe its semi refreshed semi uneventful look will appeal to buyers. Or the Ft 86 toyotas coming with will. lol

"The 2012 Toyota Corolla S with a four-speed automatic transmission starts at $19,580, including shipping."
THIS IS A 2012 MODEL AND COMES WITH A 4 SPEED AUTOMATIC STARTING AT $19580. I'm still trying to digest this because competitors have 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions as standard these days. Toyota continues to fall behind competitors in both design and mechanicals.

Every one of these vehicles are hideous and outdated. With the exception of the FJ and maybe the Venza. I kinda do like those.

Every car Toyota makes is outdated, from the 2012 Camry that seems more like a 2010 model to the Corolla, which is stuck in the dark ages. They are really starting to look like GM did 10 years ago, strong truck division and weak cars. The only difference is Toyota's cars sell really well.

Toyota just started Corolla production in a new factory in Mississippi after shipping the tooling from their former (uncompetitive) factory in California.
Lower wages + lower benefits = higher prices .

Toyota quality is not there anymore. Just purchased a new 2011 Tacoma doublecab 4x4 a few months ago and the visors on both side are already sagging and do not snap back up like when they were new. I can no longer sandwich things on top of the visor. The doom light keeps poping off of the headliner, the factory roof rack doesn't seat properly on the roof despite mutiple attempts to fix it; including one time where the mechanic used a 2x4 to pound it down and put a dent on the roof!!! Factory Toyota mechanics are not very well trained based on my experiences (6 times to the dealer for the same problem!! Not kidding you).
