TORRANCE, California — Toyota on Wednesday released a teaser photo of the redesigned 2012 Camry on its Twitter page, about three weeks ahead of the car's official August 23 unveiling.

The photo shows the tightly cropped left front corner of the car, including a glimpse of the headlamp, foglamp, grille, bumper, front fender, hood and windshield.

A brief tweet that accompanied the front-end teaser shot said: "Check out an official pic of the all-new 2012 Camry and stay tuned for more info on the upcoming launch."

Toyota on Monday said the new Camry will be officially unveiled August 23 in a series of four simultaneous reveals around the U.S. The new Camry Hybrid was unofficially revealed to the public on Inside Line in a series of spy photos late last week. The 2012 Camry goes on sale in the fall.

The full Camry unveiling later this month will be held at the Automotive Hall of Fame in Dearborn, Michigan, as well as New York, Los Angeles and Georgetown, Kentucky, home of the Camry manufacturing plant. Toyota said the 2012 Camry Hybrid will be revealed on August 23 along with the mainstream model.

The competition has ALWAYS offered more dramatic alternatives of at least decent quality, but the Camry outsells them time after time simply by behaving like a bargain Lexus.

It's notable that salesmen from Toyota's competitors are STILL trying to milk the Toyota acceleration myth even though it was debunked on multiple fronts six months ago. Says something about desperation.

jonthecarguy, you work for a dealership, we don't expect you to say anything but nice.  Brainwashed;)

Haters are always haters.  Grow up and stop being a "stick in the mud".

I think it looks good so far.  This must be an SE model.  All they need to improve is the interior quality.  The engine choices, gas milage, and the exterior are OK currently.  I want to see the final product and the test drive to judge it.

Thank god there is still some sensibility in the enthusiast world. So many haters for such a humble, inoffensive car over at Autoblog comments. Amusing, to say the least.

Not bad, hope the interior is nice ,and the engines are more peppy.

As far as being great cars....I can attest....I work for a dealership.  We sell roughly 10 pre-owned Camry's a month (03-11 models).  NEVER has one come back with any kind of problem, 20K miles or 100K miles.  Not saying that all Camry's are trouble proof, but it's these types of cars us dealers love!  I can't say the same for our experiences with Malibu's, Accord's, Altima's...

This is the one I want to see, not the Hybrid.  The color-keyed grill, from what I can see, looks better then the chrome by far.  Like someone else said, the Camry isn't everyone's cup of tea, but they are great cars.

The current Camry is vanilla but not bad looking.  I like the way it looks in SE trim with the TRD wheels and I see a lot of Camrys (Camri?) like this.

What really needs improvement is the interior...the current one is a hard, plastic mess, although it is quiet.
