TORRANCE, California — Toyota has announced it will price its all-new fifth-generation 4Runner SUV the same as the current model, although it will get more than $1,700 worth of added equipment. The 4Runner will start at $28,300 for the base SR5 4x2 with a four-cylinder engine, topping out at $40,550 for the Limited 4x4 model with V6. All prices include an $800 destination charge.
Toyota has added a new model to the 4Runner lineup, the Trail, aimed at providing optimal off-road capability. The Trail gets 20-inch wheels versus the other models' 17-inchers and a full-size spare as well as Kinetic Dynamic Suspension (KDSS), which disconnects the stabilizer bars and allows better suspension articulation on rugged terrain. Other features on the Trail model include Multi-Terrain Select — one of the choices is Mogul — and electromechanical Crawl Control for off-highway driving, previously only available on the Land Cruiser. The Trail version of the 2010 4Runner is priced at $36,450.
The 2010 4Runner will reach dealerships starting in late October, with the base SR5 4x2 coming in early January.
The Prius gets a $400 price increase, starting October 18. The base model of the popular hybrid will now be sold in limited quantities to fleet buyers only. The lowest-end Prius available to the general public will cost $23,150. The top model will be priced at $28,420.
Toyota also announced that the Venza will get a $300 price increase for 2010, with prices ranging from $27,025 to $30,300. The car adds a USB port, hands-free phone capability and Bluetooth as standard. The Venza arrives at dealers in early November.
The Land Cruiser's price is up $1,215, to $66,720, and has standard Safety Connect and iPod/Bluetooth connectivity. Gray factory privacy glass is added to the rear hatch. The Land Cruiser comes to dealers in late October.
Toyota's Tacoma pickup goes up $175 for 2010. The Tacoma lineup starts with the base regular-cab 4x2 at $16,145 and goes all the way up to $28,050 for the double-cab 4x4 with V6. Prices for the Tacoma include Toyota's light-truck destination charge of $800.

so I just bought a second hand 4 Runner with 150,000 miles on it '97. and 3 months after I bought it, the DC snowstorm (more snow than we have had since the blizzard of '96) hits.
this car will go through ANYTHING. it has almost brand new snow tires, and low 4 wheel drive. we hit the split on the beltway and there was a 4 foot wall of snow seperating the side I needed to be on from the side I was on... no problem, we went RIGHT THRU IT !
and up non plowed residential streets with 2 feet of snow to retrieve my daughter stranded at a friends house AND then pulled two stranded cars out on our way back....
I LOVE THIS CAR :-).
