    Just the Facts:
    • Tesla Roadster 2.5 is a tweaked version of the electric car.
    • It gets a new front fascia, new seats and an optional back-up camera.
    • Pricing remains the same at $109,000.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark — Capping a week that saw the successful debut of its IPO, Tesla on Thursday took the wraps off its mildly revised Roadster 2.5 here. The Tesla Web site says pricing remains the same, at $109,000, not including a $7,500 federal tax credit.

The Tesla Roadster 2.5 gets a more aggressive look with a new front fascia and "rear diffuser reflecting the future of Tesla design," the electric automaker said in a statement. Other changes include glossy forged wheels in either silver or black, new seats with a new lumbar support system, "power control hardware that enables spirited driving in exceptionally hot climates," an optional touchscreen display with back-up camera and sound-deadening insulation. The same electric powertrain is underneath the skin.

Tesla said the Roadster 2.5 is currently available for order and soon will be available at Tesla stores worldwide. It debuted along with the opening of Tesla's two new stores in Copenhagen and Newport Beach, California.

"Although development of the Model S is our main focus, this shows that we still care a great deal about improving the Tesla Roadster," said Tesla CEO Elon Musk in a statement. "These improvements are a direct result of customer feedback. Where feasible, we will also offer existing customers the ability to purchase the upgrades now available in version 2.5."

Tesla's shares rallied to a stock-market value in excess of $2 billion this week, an impressive start given the market doldrums.

its engineering costs that make them so expensive. to date this is the most powerful electric car out there and if you have been watching the only thing fster electricly speaking is the 918 spyder but even that is a hybrid both the e-tron and sls amg electric car are both slower and cost jsut as much if not more.

I see these things in the Bay Area all the time.  Passed one yesterday evening in fact.  He was in the slow lane @ 55 mph while everyone else was ripping by at 75+ on 280N ... he was probably low on battery juice, haha.

I like this car, but I still don't understand why it costs over $100k.
