SAN CARLO, California — Tesla Motors has released new images of its Roadster Sport, which began reaching the first customers in July, and the Model S sedan, which goes into production in late 2011.

Unveiled last January, the Roadster Sport is priced starting at $128,500. At $19,500 above the standard two-seater, the Roadster Sport is a bit quicker and gets an uprated suspension and more goodies.

The Model S, while still more than two years away from production, has already hit the track in prototype form. Tesla hopes to sell the Model S for $57,400. It will share its powertrain with the Roadster S. Tesla says more than 1,000 customers have placed orders with deposits for the car. The company also plans to offer a special Signature Edition of the Model S.
