NEW YORK — Suzuki will highlight its stage at the 2009 New York Auto Show with two recycled concepts from 2006 and '07. The Suzuki Zuk and Suzuki SXForce concepts both feature turbocharged engines and styling cues derived from Suzuki motorcycles.
The 300-horsepower Suzuki Zuk is based on the five-door SX4 crossover and was built by Road Race Motorsports. Power moves through the standard all-wheel drive to 19-inch alloy wheels and performance tires. Road Race has also fitted the Zuk with sport springs to improve handling. The ground effects kit, mirrors and exhaust pipes draw from Suzuki's Hayabusa and GSX-R.
The four-door Suzuki SX4 Sport has been transformed into the sport-bike-inspired SXForce. In the SXForce, the turbocharged 2.0-liter makes 250 hp. The exterior combines carbon fiber and white and orange metallic paint with motorcycle cues including the rearview mirrors and dual exhaust outlets.
