2008 Suzuki SX4 Road Trip Edition Debuts

BREA, California — Suzuki wants consumers to make the connection that its SX4 and standard navigation are synonymous. Toward that end, it has just introduced a special-edition 2008 SX4 Road Trip edition that starts at $15,999, including destination.

The Road Trip edition is available now in the '08 SX4 Sport and front-wheel-drive version of the five-door SX4 crossover. In April, Suzuki said its 2009 SX4 Sport and SX4 crossover will feature standard navigation. Suzuki points out that its Garmin-designed navigation system includes an optional lowest-price-gas finder, real-time traffic and restaurant reviews.

The navigation system's flip-up 4.3-inch touchscreen display is fully integrated into the vehicle's audio system, which means all navigation commands are channeled through the SX4's audio system. Not only can you fold the dash-top navigation unit into the dash, you can also pop out the entire unit and take it with you.

What this means to you: If you're a road warrior, the 2008 and 2009 Suzuki SX4 may be on the top of your list thanks to this standard convenience feature, which neatly bridges the gap between ordinarily pricey factory nav setups and cheaper portable units. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
