GENEVA — Suzuki has released a teaser image of the Swift-S concept that it will unveil at the upcoming 2011 Geneva Auto Show.
The Japanese automaker describes the car as a "more sporty and exciting" version of the redesigned Swift compact that went on sale last fall in Europe. Suzuki said its goal was to create "a stylish sport compact with premium performance."
Design cues include more pronounced wheel arches and a roof spoiler.
Media reports suggest Suzuki also is poised to bring the Swift back to the U.S. as a 2012 model, slotted below the Kizashi sedan in size and price.

@dgmail Um Suzuki is actually doing very well in quality, affordability and sales numbers. They could keep getting better. I mean look at Hyundai and Kia.

The existing Swift /Swift Sport has been available in Erope since about 2008. I went to Suzuki and had written in only to find 2012 as well. I went forward on an 11 Mini Cooper S as I got tired of waiting. The Swift should have come here prior to the Kizashi.

A real Suzuki Swift as opposed to another re-badged Daewoo is overdue in North America . The car receives consistently favorable press in Europe and would really help round out the Suzuki line up if they hope to have a future in our market.

Judging from the picture, it appears that the Swift-S will be able to bend light and perhaps alter the fabric of time and space!
When I vacationed in Ireland a few years ago, my rental car was a Suzuki Swift with a manual transmission. I thought it to be decent compact and the experience made me wonder why they don't sell them in the USA.

I've always loved the old Swift GTs. I hope this car is a successor in spirit!
