    What Is It?

    What's Special About It?
It's always seemed curious that modern SUVs offer unparallel opportunities for experiencing nature (perhaps leading to greater conservation?), while at the same time using more of the Earth's resources than a vehicle that won't allow you to witness the beauty of creation. Hmm, what can we do about that? Suzuki says "Landbreeze." Similar to Ford's Model U, the Landbreeze uses recyclable materials including aluminum body panels and non-petroleum based tires. Further enhancing its enviro-friendly nature is the fact that power comes from an advanced hybrid engine that combines a fuel-efficient three-cylinder gas engine with an electric motor. The naturally aspirated, 660cc engine should offer respectable acceleration at both low and high speeds.

Certainly we have to applaud Suzuki's efforts to build an environmentally friendly car that can also get you into the woods, but it will have to stand out with real off-road ability to woo U.S. customers.

    Why Should You Care?
OK, it's a hybrid and all, but didn't Suzuki already try to build a small SUV/car? Although bolder and better-looking, I can't help but think of the failed X-90 when I see the Landbreeze. All sarcasm aside, the real reason any of us should care is that when even smaller companies like Suzuki are looking at hybrid technology, you know it's not going away any time soon. — Brian Moody
