    What Is It?
    Subaru Project STi Concept

    What's Special About It?
This decked-out WRX owes most of its changes to Subaru Tecnica International (STI), a subsidiary of Subaru's parent company that's responsible for designing and building Subaru's world-renowned rally cars. In addition to its racing efforts, the STI group also helps Subaru develop parts for production models and the Project STi shows just how far its efforts have come. Some parts featured on the car are already available from Subaru's performance parts catalog such as the short throw shifter, titanium shift knob, revised pedals and high-temp air duct. The car also features a number of parts that are still under evaluation by the STI and could be available soon. These parts include a new gauge pack, front and rear spoilers, adjustable struts and springs, aluminum wheels and a high-flow muffler.

    What's Edmunds Take?
This WRX shows just how committed Subaru is to not only building high-quality, race-proven parts, but also parts that its owners are interested in buying. By showing off its various ideas to the public through cars like the WRX STi, Subaru gets real-world feedback on what works and what doesn't. Rest assured that if any, or all, of these parts gets positive reaction at SEMA you'll be able to buy them for yourself and create your very own Project STi. — Ed Hellwig
