    What Is It?
    2004 Subaru Outback

    What's Special About It?
The Outback has been a successful selling crossover vehicle since it entered the market in 1995. With 8.8 inches of ground clearance the Outback is able to tackle rough roads, while still offering around-town refinement. Two versions are available: Outback 2.5i and Outback 3.0R. The 2.5i is powered by a 2.5-liter boxer engine that puts out 165 horsepower, while the 3.0R performance version comes with a new 3.0-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine.

    Why Should You Care?
As new crossover vehicles continue to appear from manufacturers around the globe, the Subaru Outback remains a good choice, in both appearance and performance. — Kelly Stennick
