WASHINGTON — Subaru is recalling 29,443 of its 2010 Legacy and Outback vehicles because of a potential fluid leak in the CVT hose that could result in a crash, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
"A crack or split can occur in the CVT cooler hose, resulting in a fluid leak," NHTSA said in its recalls summary of the problem. "If the fluid is completely leaked during driving, the vehicle will come to a stop, possibly resulting in a crash."
Subaru dealers will replace the hose for free. NHTSA said that Subaru has not yet provided the agency with a notification schedule of the recall. Subaru owners can contact the automaker at (856) 488-8500.
