2009 Detroit Auto Show: Subaru Legacy Concept
Published Jan 19, 2009
DETROIT — Subaru said its Legacy Concept, shown at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show, is only a teaser for its next-generation midsize family car — but the showcar looks remarkably close to production-ready. The Japanese automaker is planning to begin selling the redesigned Legacy sedan and wagon in model year 2010.
The Legacy Concept is built on an ample 108.3-inch wheelbase, with seating for four; the production version likely will accommodate five adults.
The concept also sports a 3.6-liter horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine driving all four wheels.
Other tech highlights include side rear-vision cameras, multiple LED lamps and several touchscreen displays.
