2007 Subaru Legacy Unveiled in Japan

    0 Ratings
TOKYO — Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru, has introduced the 2007 Legacy and Outback in the Japanese domestic market, with a mild sheet metal face-lift and some new equipment among the most notable changes to the midsize sedans and wagons.

The '07 models should arrive in U.S. dealerships later this summer, although they will not have these few changes. A modest exterior update will occur on the '08 model in the U.S.

Among the more significant improvements is an upgraded version of Subaru's Intelligent Drive system, with enhancements to performance and a reduction in exhaust emissions. A new driver interface helps monitor fuel economy. The SI-Drive system is available on 2.0-liter turbo and 3.0-liter models.

You'll have to look closely to spot the exterior design modifications, which are mostly detail changes. The same is true for interior upgrades, which are limited to a few trim changes.

The Legacy and Outback models aren't scheduled for a complete redesign until model year 2010, according to suppliers.
