    What Is It?

    What's Special About It?
Subaru updated its European Legacy sedan and wagon to include a new 3.0-liter, six-cylinder boxer engine, said to produce 245 horsepower at 6,600 rpm and boost smooth acceleration while increasing engine power at higher rpm. The Legacy 3.0R combines a new symmetrical all-wheel-drive arrangement with the 3.0-liter engine, as well as a new five-speed automanual transmission. Standard 17-inch tires are expected to add the necessary grip for the enhanced 3.0R driving experience.

    Why Should You Care?
Subaru claims the Legacy 3.0R was developed as a high-performance driver's car. Rally enthusiasts will recognize the name Prodrive Ltd., which supplies some of its patented components to encourage its performance image. — Kelly Stennick
