SANTA MONICA, Calif. — Now just over a month away from its official debut at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show, spy photographers have again captured the 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, this time offering the clearest shots yet of the hot-rod version of the Impreza WRX.
Prior prototypes were still heavily padded and taped around the fender flares, but this latest Subaru is essentially undisguised. The true shape of the STi's bulging fenders, along with the front integrated air duct, is now visible.
Performance specifications have not yet been released, but the STI is expected to produce approximately 325 horsepower from its turbocharged flat four-cylinder engine when the much-anticipated Subaru goes on sale in 2008.
What this means to you: Hang in there, Subie fans; the wait is almost over.
