- 2013 Subaru BRZ: Don't expect any significant changes or additions to the BRZ for at least at year, but we've got good money on a turbo version (STI?) showing up inside of two years. It would, after all, be stupid to ignore the obvious goodness of such a car.
Subaru Impreza
- 2014 Subaru Impreza WRX/WRX STI: Expect a redesign for the WRX and WRX STI in 2014. Rumors are all over the place regarding the next generation WRX and WRX STI powertrains. Most prevalent as of this writing is the idea of an electric-powered turbocharger. We're not even sure if such a device can be called a turbocharger, but here's how the rumor goes: Heat energy from the exhaust gas would be used to produce enough electricity to power the air pump (turbocharger?). Simple physics and history have both shown this scenario to be implausible, but, hey, we're just sharing the rumors.
Subaru Legacy
- 2014 Subaru Legacy: A four-year model cycle will dictate a full redesign for the 2014 Legacy.
Subaru Outback
- 2014 Subaru Outback. See above.
Subaru Tribeca
- 2013 Subaru Tribeca: After experiencing slow sales for several years now, the Tribeca's days seem numbered. Still, it appears for now that the Tribeca will soldier on for at least a few more years.
Subaru XV Crosstrek
- 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek: All-new for 2013 we don't expect any changes for the Crosstreck for a few years, but we didn't want you to think we forgot it.

Any updates here, Edmunds, this is pretty old and well-known information.
5 speed auto for the Forester?
Is the diesel (2.0) available in Europe coming to the U.S.?
This is a pretty weak "future vehicles" section...

Subaru's hatchback design really all wasn't that successful. But it certainly looks updated and a lot!!

Subaru has gotten more mileage out of 15 year old power train technology than anyone on the planet. Way past time for them to junk their 1980's era 4 speed auto transmissions and move into the 21st century. Boxer engines also need major tech upgrades. They build reliable cars that people like, but as the new CAFE mpg rules creep up on them, they will need to get serious about meeting the rest of the industry's technology.

People who claiming that Subaru makes ugly cars are speaking very objectively, or they're echoing what people used to say about Subaru cars generations ago. Every automaker has ugly cars, depending on who is looking.
Subaru has carefully implemented gradual changes to their vehicles over the years, because it increases predicable reliability, and saves costs. They need to be careful, especially now, because of industry pressure to come out with innovative and economical vehicles. Honda handles that pressure better than Subaru, because Honda is always been about innovation and economy.
When Subaru comes out with hybrid electric all wheel drive vehicles, I'll be watching to see how they do with regard to reliability. I want an AWD Subaru, now!

I don't think the CVT will fit in the Forester or the Impreza.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The only autos that Subaru makes that I am not a huge fan of is the WRX and STI only because they look too ghetto to me. And are too much of a red flag to cops. Other than that I like their looks. Better than the vanilla jelly beans out there from most other manufacturers. The Forrester is the best looking small SUV/Crossover on the market and the Outback and Outback Sport are always good looking.

Outback or Forrester diesel, 6sp manual transmission, McIntosh audio system (or other high end audio system - anything but Bose), jumbo or double sized sun roof, under $30k and I'll buy it now.
