CHERRY HILL, New Jersey — Subaru of America is showing a high-performance concept of its Forester crossover at the 2008 SEMA Show, aimed at fans of the Impreza WRX STI.

The Forester XTI Concept has been fitted with performance parts from Subaru Tecnica International (STI), including the entire driveline from the Impreza WRX STI. The turbocharged 2.5-liter flat-4 engine is boosted to 315 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, thanks to a custom stainless steel cat-back exhaust system from Subaru Performance Tuning. Zero-to-60-mph acceleration takes less than 5.0 seconds.

The Forester XTI also gets a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox and driver-controlled center differential, as well as an STI adjustable coil-over suspension, Brembo brakes and 18-inch STI forged alloy wheels shod with Yokohama Advan Neova rubber. Additional features include a sport instrument cluster, leather seats and an aero body kit.
