- Sollers will begin assembling a version of the new Ssangyong Korando C late this year.
- Local version will be called the New Actyon for the Russian market.
- Sollers expects to phase out assembly of the original Actyon within the next year or two.
MOSCOW — Russian automaker Sollers, which earlier this year announced a massive deal with Fiat, said it will begin assembling a version of the new Ssangyong Korando C late this year at its plant in the Russian Far East. The local version will be rechristened the New Actyon for the Russian market, despite the fact that it bears no resemblance to the original Actyon.
Sollers also said it plans to double annual assembly capacity for Ssangyong vehicles to 25,000 units.
Assembly of the New Actyon (known internally by the program code C200) will begin in Russia in December, with sales to start next February. Production is expected to hit full stride by 2012.
In Russia, the New Actyon will be offered with 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline and diesel engines, equipped with a choice of a six-speed manual or automatic transmission.

its good looking (although not much into CUV or SUV's) but I think the name "Korando" has more cachet .........despite not knowing what the name means ( if anything).
