NEW YORK — Fresh from its world premiere in Geneva, the production edition of the Spyker C8 Aileron will make its North American debut next week at the 2009 New York Auto Show.

The Dutch specialty-car maker said it has begun building the two-passenger C8 Aileron and expects to deliver the first cars in the third quarter. Prices will start at around $210,000, the company said.

The C8 Aileron is a long-wheelbase companion to the C8 Spyder and C8 Laviolette. It features a mid-mounted 400-horsepower Audi 4.2-liter V8, mated to either a Getrag six-speed manual gearbox or a ZF six-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Spyker said the C8 Aileron Spyder is in "final development" and added that it will get a semi-automatic soft top. The company plans to show the Spyder at this year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
