Double Dose of Dismay for Smart Review

    First Look: 2008 Smart Fortwo

    Dear Editors:
The Smart Fortwo has been a good seller here in the Canadian part of "America" for more than three years now…with a diesel engine, to boot!

Since we are all (USA and Canada) North Americans...you seem to have failed to account for the fact that the Smart has indeed been on these "American" shores for the last three years....

Always remember this: We, up here in the Great White North (Canadians) are indeed Americans as well as you guys and gals in the States…next time you use the term "America"...and, failure to mention the fact that the Smart has indeed been sold on this side of the Atlantic for these last few years (in Canada) is a glaring omission in your otherwise good article on Edmunds site....

Come on up...I'll take you for a spin in my 2-year-old Fortwo!

P.S.: And yes, it is not bad in the snow, either!

    Ben,
    Toronto, Canada

    Ben:
No offense intended. But you've got quite a few more letters to write if you're unhappy with everyone who calls Americans "Americans." — IL

    Dear Editors:
Your piece on the new and improved Smart Fortwo is well done. However, know that those of us who are "chique" need not be categorized for being "Me" in every sense of the word...you are a bigot or simply ignorant when you use "chic" marketing language to describe the psychographic profile of those of us who are simply who we are.

    MeShell Jonka,
    Maine

    Dear MeShell:
We accept the word "chic" as an appropriate term. — IL

Brother of Jets: The Z06 Can Fly in the Right Hands

    2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

    Dear Editors:
I own one of these Z06s and a few more of the exotics. This thing I'd liken it to is the old F-4 Fighter Bomber I used to fly against MIGs in the skies over North Vietnam. Unlike the F-360 that is like the F-16, the Z06 will go with the best of them, it does everything well. The F-4 was a brute of an aircraft but in the hands of a skilled pilot, would outgun the best of the MIGs. Likewise, the much heralded F-430, nimble and sleek, doesn't stand a chance when it comes to the Z06 in the hands of a good driver.

Sophomoric and Stupid: Car Writing Should Not Be Fun

Toyota Prius: the ultimate sports car for my new millennium

    Dear Editors:
Cars cost a lot of money, I am seriously researching for a new car and I found Homan's review of the Prius sophomoric and stupid. Why waste anyone's time with this drivel? I learned nothing except he is a smart-ass with no substance.
