DETROIT — Smart describes the new For-us, an "urban pickup" concept, as "the right car for the young and young-at-heart with active lives who attach importance to low emissions and taking up minimum road space."

The two-passenger Smart For-us is less than 140 inches long and features a 55kW electric motor with 96 pound-feet of torque. Smart says the minitruck has room for two Smart e-bikes in the bed.

The cargo floor retracts electrically and the tailgate slides down to provide access to the bed.

The interior of the For-us is finished in mother-of-pearl white with brushed-aluminum accents. The hammock-like seats feature a soft yellow fabric throw over the shell.

    Top speed is 75 mph.

Inside Line says: Not terribly practical, but cute as a button.

Smart just doesn't know the American Market at all...  which is odd, because their creator is what so many American's aspire to own.

IMO a subcompact pickup would be a good idea if they focused more on the utility and less on the cuteness.

Cute, yes: but it will never be built/sold.
