LAS VEGAS — Scion strutted into the 2009 SEMA Auto Show with at least seven powerhouse offerings, including a Kogi xD Mobile Kitchen by MV Designz that includes a kitchen sink, barbecue grille and a right taillight that holds the condiments.
The Mobile Kitchen appears to be the ultimate tailgate ride. The left rear door bundles a fridge and a cutting board, the left taillight holds cooking utensils and the right rear door contains an ice chest. The hatch glass features dual Alpine LCD monitors. The exterior is tricked out with MV Designz front and rear fascia, side skirts and a custom hood.
Another SEMA offering from Toyota's youth brand is the Epic Cartel Scion tC. Cartel's Jeremy Lookofsky describes this tC as "a new twist of technology and insane flowing body lines." It has been chopped 3 inches with the B-pillars and center glass roof section removed and reinforced. Details include a TRD supercharger kit, pearl white base paint with two-tone graphics and an interior with low-rise bucket seats.
The Scion xB DJ 2.0 by Five Axis gets a custom DJ and entertainment system, Sparco Chrono Road seats and a custom loudspeaker system. The exterior is a memorable "Molten Lava" red. Deep-dish wheels and Fix Axis dual exhaust round out the package.
The 0-60 Magazine/Sparco Rally Scion xD has a front carbon hood, a rear carbon hatch and a GTC carbon wing. Sparco provided Pro-ADV race seats, six-point harnesses and a communications unit. Helmet is included.
The two-tone Scion xB Tuner Challenge by Brandon Leung is an eye-catcher with its Five Axis four-piece lip kit, Mooneyes bullet fender mirrors and custom truck conversion and metal fabrication by ADF. The interior gets a hand-blown glass shift knob, a custom bench seat and racing harnesses.
The Scion xB Tuner Challenge by Eneri Abillar is fitted with a BRS wide-body kit with custom fabrication to the front and rear bumper, a shaved door handle and a GReddy GRB stainless steel muffler. The cabin is outfitted with Yonaka Ronin leather seats, Sparco harnesses and custom wood floors.
The "Teal Blue Pearl" paint on the Scion xB Tuner Challenge by Peter Colello provides a dazzling jumping-off point for this SEMA offering. Other modifications include black-tinted headlights and teal-tinted taillights. The interior gets a deep-dish steering wheel, a custom dash and carbon-fiber accents.
