TORRANCE, Calif. — Scion on Friday said its first limited-production Scion for 2008, the xB Release Series 5.0, will be priced at $18,740 for the manual-transmission model and $19,690 for the automatic-transmission model. Prices include a $620 destination charge.
Scion confirmed that only 2,500 units of the xB Release Series will be built. The car arrives in showrooms in February.
The Toyota youth brand is clearly going for the gold with this model, which was inspired by the 2007 Chicago Auto Show xB display vehicle. It is decked out in Gold Rush Mica paint with Gold Rush Mica interior trim and seat fabric. It features a KenStyle body kit and new Release Series wheel covers. One notable detail is a moonroof, which Scion says is an xB first. A color-keyed spoiler adds another $320 to the bottom line.
