LONG BEACH, California — The 700-horsepower Rockstar AEM Scion tC debuted last month, and the first video of it drifting has finally hit the Internet.
Tanner Foust piloted the tC to a 3rd-place podium finish at the 2009 Formula Drift Championship season opener at the Long Beach Grand Prix course. The video shows Foust hitting the curves and also has an up-close-and-personal look at the modified tC by team manager and builder Stephan Papadakis.
"To walk away from the event with a podium spot on the Rockstar Energy Scion tC's maiden voyage is a huge success. The guys in the shop worked so hard. I'm just glad I could reward their great efforts with a good result," said Foust after the event.
The modified Scion was converted to rear-wheel drive with a 1994 Toyota Supra rear end, and the team dropped in a 700-hp TRD V8 engine from the NASCAR truck series. It also has a wide body and a full racing interior.
You can check out the Scion in Round 3 of the Formula Drift Championship starting June 5 in New Jersey.
