- 2011 Scion tC starts at $18,995.
- It's priced just over $1,000 more than the 2010 tC.
- The second-generation tC features a new 180-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine.
SAN DIEGO — Unveiled earlier this year at the 2010 New York Auto Show, the redesigned 2011 Scion tC is reaching dealers this month, priced from $18,995 with a six-speed manual gearbox and $19,995 with a six-speed automatic. Prices include a $720 shipping charge.
The sticker on the 2011 model has taken a significant jump over the 2010 tC, which starts at $17,820.
The second-generation tC features a new 180-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. The transmissions also are new.
Toyota said the styling of the new tC was inspired by the California-designed Scion Fuse concept, which debuted at the 2006 New York Auto Show.
Inside Line says: It's a dicey move to boost the tC's price tag by such a significant margin. — Paul Lienert, Correspondent

I didn't like the new TC when I first saw it but it is kind of growing on me. It is a decent, sporty looking coupe for the price. Nonetheless, Toyota did a GM kind of job updating this car...they got a good start but didn't follow through. The Kia Forte Koup is definately a more striking looking vehicle than this and offers alot more. This new TC unfortunately is not going to make it for a 2 year run let alone a 7 year run like the first generation model so Toyota better stay on their toes!!! Sh*t or get off the pot Toyota with your Scion brand!!!

Not much of a redesign,as it looks like a Civic or Elantra. The long gone Celica had more flair than this but maybe they don't wan't flair. Who is the target audience for this as the price also really thins out the number of buyers, I would think!!

Ugh! That exterior styling really rubs me the wrong way! Like other posters here are saying, the Scion designers could learn a lot from some of Kia's and Hyundai's recent offerings in the coupe segment. This car looks like it should have four doors.
Yech, phew!

An the reason ANYONE would buy this abomination instead of a Genesis 2.0T is?"""""
Because some people - quite a few actually - would rather not buy anything Hyundai nor Kia.

Really liked the 1st generation tC, but this one is slightly disappointing.
Pros:
Front end looks nice, clean, modern, and more aggressive.
Nice profile
Still priced thousands less compared to a Honda Civic Coupe with similar features.
Cons:
The interior is extremely disappointing. The door panels and steering wheel look alright, but the dashboard looks cheap. Looks like the interior of some 80's car and that's never a good thing.
Rear end looks bland.
Would have liked to see Scion offer the 1.8 liter as an optional lower priced base model.
My guess is sales will be great for one or two quarters but will taper off greatly in its second year on the market.

This looks like garbage compared to the first gen. I understand making it look more sharp as most updates, the car either goes really bubbly or really boxy.
But cmon... I had little respect for the guys who first drove these things... at least it sort of looked sporty.
now they have a cheap slow car... that also looks like crap.

Still piggish in weight. Rediculously large displacement 4 Cyl. relative to power output and fuel consumption. This car hasn't come to far since the last generation.

No Toyota needs to get the 6-speed auto into the rest of the Scion line and the related Corolla. It is hard to believe that they have stuck with the 4-speed auto so long.
