GENEVA — Citroën is going to extreme lengths to highlight the importance of the new C-Crosser. C-Crosser is the French company's first SUV, produced by Mitsubishi in Japan under a production deal.

Franco Sbarro, a highly individual Swiss designer who nurtures young talent and each year provides something extraordinary at the Geneva auto show, this year teamed up with Citroën for a six-wheel variant off the C-Crosser. Citroën naturally was quick to point out that back in the early 1920s, it had already created a similar car, equipped with half-tracks, that participated in well-publicized tours in remote parts of Asia and Africa.

The Cruise Crosser Concept follows the same spirit in its construction. But it is also green, with a hybrid diesel-electric powertrain.

The pickup truck concept is equipped with satellite navigation and a DVD player.

    What this means to you: It's a crosser-looking C-Crosser.
