Saab: What's New for 2010

    8 Ratings

2010 Saab 9-3: The 2010 9-3 lineup expands to include the 9-3X. It's an all-wheel-drive version of the normal 9-3 wagon with a little extra ground clearance to boot. Contrasting bumper and fender trim completes the mildly rugged look of the 9-3X. Under the hood is Saab's turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4, and you'll have a choice of a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.

2010 Saab 9-4X: Saab finally gets a compact crossover SUV. The 9-4X is basically the same as a Cadillac SRX under the skin, and it will be built in Mexico. Expect the Saab 9-4X to offer both a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-4 and a turbo 2.8-liter V6. Base versions are apt to be front-wheel drive, with the Haldex-based Cross-Wheel Drive (XWD) system optional.

2010 Saab 9-5: Shown at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, the 9-5 sedan gets a complete redesign for 2010 and moves to GM's Epsilon II platform architecture. It will remain a premium midsize sedan with front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. In the U.S., you'll be able to buy the 2010 Saab 9-5 with either the 2.0-liter turbo-4 or the 2.8-liter turbo V6. The Haldex XWD system will be available with the V6.
