FRANKFURT - For the 9-5 Aero Sedan, Saab utilized its 2.3-liter turbocharged engine and brought peak output to 230 horsepower. Even more impressive is the broad torque band that delivers a peak output from 1900 to 4000 rpm. On vehicles with a manual transmission, an additional torque boost is available when maximum throttle is applied, helping the 9-5 Aero achieve a 6.9-second zero-to-60 time.
The Aero sits 10mm lower than other 9-5 models and has thicker front and rear antiroll bars, stiffer springs and dampers, and 17-inch alloy wheels with 225/45R tires. A newly designed MacPherson strut provides a better balance between ride and handling abilities. Finally, larger front disc brakes and a new brake-pad friction material offer improved feel and shorter stopping distances. All 9-5 Aeros have a front spoiler (complete with special Aero emblems), contoured side skirts and a rear bumper extension. The 9-5 Aero comes in both sedan and wagon variants.
