Saab touts the new 9-5 Gary Fisher Edition as a true sport wagon that combines performance, safety and cargo-hauling abilities with enhanced versatility for mountain bike enthusiasts. Starting with an entry-level 9-5 wagon, Saab adds its premium package that includes dual front power seats, leather seating surfaces and a Harman/Kardon sound system. There's also an Aero-like body styling package with side skirts, front lip spoiler and body-painted rear valence, as well as unique 17-inch wheels and Michelin rubber. Special Fisher-esque features include a roof rack system with bike carrier, a body-leveling system, sliding load cargo floor, 12-volt power outlet in the cargo area and a cooling box that chills liquid refreshments to a frosty 41 degrees. But what makes this package special is the trail-kicking Gary Fisher mountain bike that's included. With a retail value of $900, this bike is loaded with a 6061 T6 aircraft-quality aluminum frame, a Rock Shox Judy XC fork, Bontrager Superstock wheels and Shimano components. Look for the Gary Fisher Edition wagons to hit the Saab showrooms this March, but don't dilly-dally -- only 650 units will be available. At a mere $1,880 more than a base 9-5 wagon with the Premium Package, you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal.

Why should you care?
Aircraft quality vehicles meet aircraft quality mountain bikes. Yep, it's another auto/bike marriage ala Jetta Trek, but with world-renowned equipment. At a $36,995 price point that includes vehicle, bike and all the outdoor goodies, Saab has the best deal in town. Just be sure to wear your helmet and protective gear when flogging a trail.
