The black 9-7X Aero concept features 24-inch custom-fabricated "Aero X" wheels and 275/30 Pirelli tires. Highlights include a custom 3-inch-lowered suspension, custom front fender side vents and a Borla Performance exhaust system. The cabin is decked out in suede and leather trim and includes a DVD/TV in-dash double-din head unit. Other touches include four 7-inch TV monitors for the seats, a 15-inch flip-down LCD center, and two amplifiers and two 12-inch subwoofers with a custom box.
In a statement, Saab said it was trying to get "in touch with its inner funk" with the concept and posed the question, "When will this black beauty go into production?"
"Shows such as SEMA provide Saab a terrific opportunity to try new things and quickly get the evolution out in front of the public," said Julie Kenar, Saab Automobile USA 9-7X marketing manager. "This will act as a good gauge for whether this concept is one which resonates with customers."
The Saab 9-7X comes with two engine choices: a 4.2-liter inline-6 that delivers 290 horsepower and 277 pound-feet of torque and a 5.3-liter V8 that delivers 302 hp and 330 lb-ft of torque.
Earlier, Saab announced the 9-7X Altitude Edition. The two versions of the Altitude Edition will be priced at $42,130 for the six-cylinder 4.2i model and $44,130 for the V8 model.
What this means to you: If there's a positive reaction to the 9-7X Aero concept at SEMA, it may see the light of day in the showroom.
