Rolls-Royce Builds Limited-Edition Phantom for the U.A.E.

GOODWOOD, England — Rolls Royce will build the Peony, a new limited-edition Phantom sedan, as part of its Bespoke Program. This one is designed specifically for customers in the United Arab Emirates.

The peony, a flower indigenous to Asia, is said to represent royalty, wealth and distinction. The two-tone Pearl Blue exterior's paint job contrasts with the Moonstone Pearl Blue and Seashell interior. Inside, the wood trim and door capping feature a blue and yellow color combination and leaf motif.

A specially commissioned "Peony" perfume, created by the U.A.E. perfumery HIND, is included with the purchase of this luxury sedan.

The engine is the same as the standard Phantom's, a 6.7-liter V12 that makes 453 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque.

Rolls Royce's Bespoke Program, very popular in the Middle East, has its strongest advocate in Abu Dhabi Motors' Kadhim Al Helli. His company calls him "the ideas man" behind the design of the Peony Phantom. The car will be delivered to Abu Dhabi Motors, with pricing and availability not yet announced.

What this means to you: The Middle East's appetite for the finest in luxury vehicles is in full bloom. — Mike Lysaght, Correspondent
